I used to be a really active person. Cross country runner, soccer player, skier, rock climber,
yogi…I scoffed at the thought of doing an at-home fitness program; it was beneath me. Then I
grew up. I got busy. Then came the kids. I got even busier. Career on hold. Working from home and scurrying about each day trying to make ends meet, keep everyone clothed, fed, the house somewhat clean. You know the drill. I kept saying I would get back to yoga, but I never did. I said, “I on’t need to pay for an exercise program; I can do it on my own.” But I never did. My body ached from sitting at my desk all day doing medical transcription. My tummy had a pooch that had never been there not even after having my babies. I was one of the lucky ones that dropped all the baby weight by breastfeeding. But when I got to my late 30s, suddenly my body just couldn’t maintain itself while I sacrificed my own physical and emotional needs for the sake of the family.
I didn’t have time for ME. I was miserable, going through a downward spiral, and I couldn’t see my way out on my own. So I reached out and grabbed the LIFELINE that a friend held out to me. It was time to stop being the yogi snob and all
ow a VIDEO (gasp!) to put me through the motions of a fitness program. I was really short on time. I needed to push play, have someone tell me what to do for 25 minutes, and then get on with my day. It was worth a shot. It was better than nothing, which is exactly what I was doing on my own. I had no idea what I was in for. Fast forward 10 weeks…I was 17 lb lighter and had more energy, strength, and self esteem than I had in years. YEARS. I kid you not. My coach, Shakeology, and T25 literally saved me.
Fast forward 2 years…I still drink Shakeology every day. EVERY DAY. And if I don’t eat the best diet for a day or 2 (or 3 or 4), at least I know I’m still getting a daily dose of dense superfood nutrition. This is a lifestyle that I have no intention of giving up. Yes, I slip sometimes, but just enough to get a glimpse of how I used to feel BBB Before Beachbody :). Nope, I ain’t going back. No way.
